BBI Cambridge Ltd is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of its operations. We aim to create an environment in which all employees, candidates, collaborators, and stakeholders are treated with fairness, dignity, and respect, and where unlawful discrimination is actively prevented.

Scope and Purpose

 

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and individuals engaged with BBI Cambridge, whether full-time, part-time, temporary, or visiting. The purpose of this policy is to:

  • Ensure equality, fairness, and respect for all in employment and engagement with the Institute.

  • Prevent unlawful discrimination on the basis of protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010, including: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

  • Promote an inclusive culture in which differences are recognised, valued, and leveraged to achieve excellence.

  • Ensure that decisions regarding recruitment, promotion, training, remuneration, and career development are based on merit.

  • Maintaining a working environment free from bullying, harassment, victimisation, and unlawful discrimination.

  • Providing appropriate training to all employees and managers regarding their responsibilities under this policy.

  • Treating complaints of discrimination, harassment, or victimisation seriously, and addressing them promptly under the Institute’s grievance or disciplinary procedures. Serious breaches may constitute gross misconduct and could lead to dismissal.

  • Making opportunities for professional development, training, and progression available to all employees, supporting them to realise their full potential.

  • Reviewing policies, practices, and procedures regularly to ensure fairness and compliance with applicable laws.

  • Monitoring the composition of our workforce and the effectiveness of this policy, including annual reviews and action planning to address any identified issues.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that supports equality, diversity, and inclusion, both internally and externally. Senior management fully endorses this policy and is responsible for embedding it across the Institute.

Reporting and Support
